The youth camp 2019 had 150 (80 male-53% & 70 female-47%) participants drawn from the larger Kegogi location. The youth assembled at Tambacha hall for a two - day training and interactive sessions.

The training was opened by the Marani sub-county assistant county commissioner and the area chief Mr. Lawrence Masieka who were welcomed by the Cecome Executive director Madam Stella Achoki.

The international women's day, though taken to be a day to celebrate the special women in each one's life, it's a day to reflect deeply on the social, economical and political inequalities perpetuated on women by the society through ages and times.

The day is celebrated annually, globally. We hold the celebrations annually with men, women, boys and girls. We reflect the struggle of girls and women that have undergone FGM and sensitize people on the effects of FGM. Through walks, plays and talks we let people know that FGM is illegal and should not not be practiced.

We wish to join the rest of Kenyans in condemning the barbaric act of terrorism that happened yesterday at the Dusit 2 Complex in Nairobi. We also wish to convey our condolences to the families that have lost their loved ones and quick recovery to the injured.

The center for community mobilization and empowerment CECOME participated in the customization and validation of the gender mainstreaming policy for Kisii County. The policy is aimed at addressing the gender gaps in the ministry of health.

“Kisii county government, department of health services is committed to ensuring that gender mainstreaming is enhanced in its operations at the planning and decision making processes.” Reads part of the policy.

Teachers hold a pivotal role in ending gender based violence and protecting the lives of boys and girls that they impart character and teachings in the day to day educational programs.
